Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Financial Data Analyst at Tighe Logistics. The Financial Data Analyst will be responsible for data analytics, financial analysis, and utilizing analytical skills to provide insights into financial data. While the role is based in Greater Boston, some work from home is acceptable. We are currently not offering visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

A Power BI Analyst translates business requirements into technical specifications, designs and develops interactive dashboards and reports, and ensures data accuracy and reliability. They collaborate with stakeholders, extract and transform data from various sources, and provide training and support to end-users. Essentially, they bridge the gap between business needs and actionable insights derived from data using Power BI.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of their responsibilities:

1. Requirement Gathering & Analysis:

Working with stakeholders to understand their data needs and business requirements.

Translating these requirements into functional and technical specifications.

Collaborating with data engineers and analytics engineers to identify and acquire data.

2. Data Management & Preparation:

Extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources (SQL databases, Excel, APIs, etc.).

Cleaning and preparing data for analysis and reporting.

Creating and optimizing data models using DAX and Power Query.

Ensuring data quality and integrity.

Designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.

Creating compelling visualizations to communicate key insights effectively.

Developing custom charts and visualizations based on specific needs.

Automating data refreshes and reporting processes.

4. Analysis & Insights:

Analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.

Developing data-driven insights to support decision-making.

Conducting ad-hoc analyses as needed.

Troubleshooting data-related issues.

Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their data needs and present findings.

Providing training and support to end-users on how to use Power BI dashboards and reports.

Documenting BI solutions and maintaining technical documentation.

Communicating effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
