Job summary

Metro Bank is seeking a Financial Crime Transformation and Design Lead Manager to steer strategic initiatives, embedding regulatory obligations and risk controls across customer journeys, processes and technology. You will lead a cross-functional team to shape designs and ensure ongoing compliance.

The role requires deep Financial Crime expertise, strong stakeholder management and experience delivering large-scale transformation with governance and oversight. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in Financial Crime, Fraud, Compliance or related regulatory risk.
• Subject matter expertise across CDD, EDD, sanctions, screening, monitoring and investigations.
• Experience translating regulatory requirements into practical business and technology solutions.
• Ability to define business, process, data and control requirements for future-state designs.
• Strong stakeholder management with the ability to influence senior leaders.
• Solid understanding of Financial Crime regulatory frameworks and governance.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead Financial Crime and Fraud representative on strategic transformation initiatives, embedding controls.
• Shape future-state customer journeys, operating models, processes and control frameworks.
• Define and communicate requirements to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and risk appetite.
• Design and influence preventive, detective and monitoring controls across tech and processes.
• Review proposals to identify control gaps and emerging risks before implementation.
• Leverage regulatory findings to drive continuous improvement in future-state solutions.
• Support technology-enabled controls, onboarding, screening, monitoring, automation and AI capabilities with governance.
• Assess risks across transformation initiatives and embed mitigations in programme designs.
• Influence senior stakeholders to reflect Financial Crime considerations in decisions.
• Provide recommendations on readiness and implementation risk for programmes.
• Any other duties as reasonably required within the role.
