A global financial services firm in London seeks a Senior Compliance Professional to enhance financial crime controls and manage compliance strategies. The ideal candidate will have strong financial crime compliance experience and be able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Group Details
You will act as a senior compliance professional within the financial crime team, contributing to strategy development while taking ownership for key elements of the operational framework. This includes the enhancement of the control environment, risk assessments, governance, and stakeholder management.
You will work closely with the Head of Financial Crime to drive improvements, ensure regulatory expectations are met, and maintain strong internal relationships, including with Tradeweb’s auditors, and senior management.
This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution, and would suit an experienced compliance professional looking to step into a broader leadership role.
Job Responsibilities
Assist in the delivery of the financial crime compliance strategy across all legal entities and business lines globally.
Assist with the execution of group-wide financial crime risk assessments, ensuring timely updates and consistent methodologies.
Enhance and maintain the financial crime control framework, policies and procedures in line with regulatory obligations and emerging risks.
Support implementation of strategic projects, including the global onboarding/KYC transformation and sanctions controls enhancements.
Act as a point of contact for day-to-day advisory queries and provide subject matter expertise on AML, Sanctions, ABC, and related matters. This involves being available and responsive, with the ability to conduct research accurately and efficiently.
Support management and oversight of regulatory reporting, audits, and examinations.
Deputise for the Head of Financial Crime where appropriate, including participation in governance forums and committees.
Lead on coordination and delivery of compliance monitoring and assurance activity relevant to financial crime.
Engage with second and third line functions, including Internal Audit and Risk, to ensure transparency and alignment on risk issues.
Support the Head of Financial Crime in shaping a culture of integrity and accountability across Tradeweb.
Key Deliverables
Risk Management
Coordinate financial crime risk assessments and control testing.
Maintain and support group and entity-level risk appetite documentation.
Policies & Standards
Draft and maintain global minimum standards for AML, KYC/CDD and ABC.
Partner with Regional Compliance Officers (Advisory) to ensure standards are applied across regions.
Provide real-time guidance to the business on higher-risk clients, transactions, and third parties.
Review escalations from KYC, onboarding and screening teams.
Sanctions Oversight
Assist in front-to-back sanctions compliance processes, including instrument-level blocking and escalation oversight.
Governance & Reporting
Contribute to management reporting and participation in risk committees.
Maintain trackers for key deliverables and policy reviews.
Support oversight of financial crime controls embedded in procurement and third-party management processes.
Training & Awareness
Help design and deliver targeted financial crime training across regions and functions.
Requirements
Strong working knowledge of global financial crime legislation and regulatory expectations (e.g., OFAC, HMT, EU, FCA, SEC, MAS, HKMA).
Proven experience in financial crime compliance within investment firms, brokerages or trading venues.
Familiarity with international compliance frameworks and risk-based approaches to AML and sanctions.
Effective project management skills; able to prioritise and manage multiple ongoing deliverables.
Confidence engaging with internal stakeholders, including at senior levels, and external regulatory bodies.
Skills / Attributes
Deep understanding of financial markets and products, especially fixed income and derivatives.
Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate across global teams.
