Nationwide Group is seeking a Financial Crime Manager to lead a team of investigators, protecting customers and the business from financial crime while delivering risk-aware outcomes.
You'll apply AML, sanctions and CDD expertise, coach colleagues, and collaborate with stakeholders across the business to drive continuous improvement in controls and processes. The role offers hybrid working with Glasgow or Northampton offices.
Step into an exciting opportunity as a Financial Crime Manager, where you'll play a key role in protecting customers, colleagues and the organisation from financial crime. As part of the first line of defence within Financial Crime Operations, you'll help ensure compliance with anti-money laundering, sanctions and counter‑terrorist financing requirements while delivering positive customer outcomes. Working at the heart of a growing and evolving area of the business, you'll contribute to major transformation initiatives, including new risk assessment approaches and technology platforms that are helping shape the future of banking.
We're looking for an experienced people leader with a strong background in financial crime, Anti‑Money Laundering (AML), sanctions, customer due diligence or a related risk and compliance environment. You'll bring proven Business Banking and SME knowledge, enabling you to provide expert guidance on complex cases while leading, coaching and developing a high performing team. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll drive operational excellence, strengthen financial crime controls and support continuous improvement, playing a pivotal role in the organisation's ambition to become one of the UK's leading banking providers.
At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Glasgow or Northampton office. If you’re based at our Glasgow office, this will apply from 1 April 2027 and ahead of that there will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here .
