Role Overview

As a member of our Financial Crime Analytics team, you'll work hands-on to build and maintain our defenses against financial crime. You'll leverage your financial crime and technical expertise to identify potential criminal activities, ensure compliance with money laundering regulations, and optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of key controls.

This 12-month fixed-term role focuses on AML Customer Risk Assessment within our first-line financial crime analytics team. Our goal is to protect the Society and its members from financial crime while ensuring regulatory and legal compliance.

Working Arrangements

We support flexible working approaches to help you perform at your best. Our hybrid working model combines office presence at locations including London, Swindon, Northampton, Bournemouth, Dunfermline, Sheffield, or Wakefield, with home working. Typically, you'll spend at least two days per week in the office or 40% of your working time if part-time.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the development and enhancement of Customer Risk Assessment controls for Non-Retail customers.
  2. Manage a team responsible for risk mapping, gap analysis, model calibration, and documentation of methodologies.
  3. Communicate updates and progress to senior management and relevant forums.
  4. Collaborate with second-line colleagues and key business contacts to ensure robust controls are in place.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Recent experience in AML Customer Risk Assessment.
  • Strong understanding of financial crime risks related to business and non-retail customers.
  • Leadership experience managing teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of data structures related to financial crimes.
  • Proven technical and analytical skills, with experience in SAS, SQL, Python, PowerBI, Power Apps, VBA.
