This role is part of Prepay Technologies’ (PPT’s) Second Line of Defence (2LoD) Financial Crime Unit. The objective of the function is to provide independent oversight and assurance of Financial Crime activities undertaken by our operational Financial Crime First Line of Defence (1LoD) and Agents. In addition, ensure PPT maintains a robust Financial Crime framework to protect us and our Agents from facilitating Financial Crime.

The Financial Crime Analyst plays a key role in assisting PPT and its Agents by delivering data-driven insights and solutions to prevent Financial Crime and support business growth in a safe, scalable manner. This involves ensuring compliance with regulatory commitments and enhancing PPT’s Financial Crime policies, procedures, and rules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update 2LoD Financial Crime policies and procedures to ensure an effective framework.
  • Stay informed about regulatory and industry updates affecting PPT and share relevant information internally.
  • Review Financial Crime escalations and take appropriate actions, such as raising SARs and providing feedback to Agents.
  • Understand and assist with the effectiveness and enhancement of Financial Crime tools/systems deployed by PPT.
  • Review exception requests to policies and recommend solutions.
  • Conduct assurance activities on 1LoD, maintaining high-quality findings and proportionate actions.
  • Assist in delivering training for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor key Financial Crime metrics and ensure controls mitigate risks effectively.
  • Build positive relationships internally and externally.
  • Ensure customer screening/payment filtering for sanctions, PEPs, and suspicious transactions are handled efficiently.
  • Perform system and control gap analyses and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of PPT’s data sources and payment systems to analyze Agent behavior.
  • Provide independent assurance over 1LoD activities, ensuring timely closure of findings and actions.

  • Proficiency in manipulating data from databases and building high-standard reports.
