A leading international law firm is looking for a Financial Crime Analyst to join its Risk & Compliance team in London.

The ideal candidate for this role should have previous experience in a similar financial crime, AML, or compliance role within a law firm environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Financial Crime Analyst role:

  • Conduct risk-based client due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) in accordance with AML regulations and the firm’s policies.
  • Review and assess financial crime risks, including sanctions exposure, PEPs, and adverse media, and escalate where necessary.
  • Monitor and investigate suspicious activity reports (SARs) and assist with internal reporting processes.
  • Support the onboarding process for new clients and matters by identifying potential financial crime concerns.
  • Assist with periodic client reviews and ongoing monitoring requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant financial crime legislation, regulatory developments, and best practices.
  • Assist in drafting and maintaining policies, procedures, and internal guidance notes.
  • Support audit and regulatory inspection requests, including collating documentation and responses.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar financial crime, AML, or compliance role, preferably within a legal environment.
  • Strong understanding of the financial crime regulatory landscape.
  • Familiarity with legal client onboarding and regulatory risk factors in the context of international work.
  • Excellent analytical and investigative skills, with strong attention to detail.
