Responsibilities:

• Explain financial requirements and insurance/third-party payor hospitalization benefits to patients or responsible parties.
• Interpret and provide information regarding patient copayments, coinsurance, deductibles, and lifetime maximums.
• Collect patient liabilities and arrange payment plans.
• Apply applicable Community Benefit and Prompt Pay discounts.
• Meet with Medicare-exhausted patients and evaluate additional payment sources.
• Assess patients lacking proper benefits for behavioral health services for additional payment sources.
• Review long-stay patients to ensure proper coverage.
• Follow up on missing insurance/financial forms identified by the registration team.
• Complete Missed MSP questionnaires to finalize insurance billing.

Special Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of insurance benefit experience required.
• Epic experience preferred.
• Health Insurance Navigator Certification preferred.

Schedule: 40/80 Full-Time Days, Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.

Note: This position is a permanent replacement for a striking employee. Employment is subject to performance standards and conditions of employment at Butler Hospital.
