The Financial Controls Lead will be tasked with maintaining and improving Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) across the business and working with the team to do so.

Description

The Financial Controls Lead will be tasked with;

• Identifying, escalating, defining and executing special and ad hoc work as required, including leading and taking responsibility for financial internal control projects, and provide SME support for any special investigations, Group Internal Audit and external audits and assistance to business areas where required,
• To maintain and improve Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) across the business,
• Support the business in its objectives of achieving UK Corporate Reform Compliance.
• To perform and oversee the documentation of financial processes, the identification of risks and the definition / implementation of appropriate controls.
• To adhere to and perform the group ICFR testing methodology and plan.

Profile

The successful Financial Controls Lead should have;

• Accounting qualification - ACA/ACCA or equivalent
• Audit experience, preferably controls-testing focus - minimum 3 years post qualification experience
• Exposure to an effective understanding of internal controls over financial reporting and controls testing.
• Be a strong communicator and possess an ability to develop trusting and credible relationships at all levels of the business and across various teams
• Strong Excel skills
• An understanding of IT systems and operation will be helpful
