Job description

Our client is a manufacturer and provider of high quality safety critical services including lifting equipment, inspection and equipment sale and rental. The Opportunity

The successful candidate will be responsible for the company’s financial accounting, reporting and control activities including providing organisational and administrative guidance for financial operations and playing a full and active role in Senior Management Meetings.

  1. Providing and interpreting financial information
  2. Preparation of asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing account information and preparing company financial accounts
  3. Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends, analysing change, and advising accordingly
  4. Preparing and formulating strategic and long-term business plans
  5. Developing financial management mechanisms that minimise financial risk
  6. Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
  7. Ensuring company's accounting and reporting software is maintained and back ups are secure
  8. Accountable for tax compliance including income tax, VAT, and corporation tax
  9. Liaising with auditors
  10. Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers, and statutory organisations such as the Inland Revenue
  11. Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines
  12. Developing and preparing annual budgets
  13. Managing team including professional development
  14. Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation
  15. Ensure that accounting policies comply with relevant accounting standards and company policies are created and implemented
  16. Undertake specific projects as instructed by management
  17. Carry out work in a timely and efficient manner in order to meet deadlines, changing priorities when the situation requires
  18. Carry out work in accordance with operating procedures and statutory/client specifications and requirements
Background and Experience
  1. Qualified Accountant
  2. Organised and structured approach to work
  3. Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  4. Ability to work well under pressure

This is a full time role, 100% office based in Aberdeen.
