Our client is a leading accounting services business looking for a Financial Controller to join the team. The business has grown significantly, doubling in size over the past three years following a merger, and continues to expand by taking on new clients across the North West. Working in a fantastic team with a great culture, this role will involve overseeing senior finance duties for a select group of clients, providing a great transition from practice to an industry-focused role. You will work closely with business directors, acting as their part-time Financial Controller, learning from experienced FD & Directors, and having the opportunity to be the number 1 in finance with clients on site.

Role responsibilities include:

1. Preparing accurate and timely financial statements including management accounts, KPI reporting, cash flows, budgets & forecasts
2. Overseeing accounting and transactional finance duties delivered by junior team members
3. Presenting to senior Directors internally and externally
4. Managing year-end statutory accounts and corporation tax preparation for business clients
5. Liaising with external stakeholders – auditors, customers, suppliers, and key advisors/NEDs
6. Continuously suggesting improvements to service delivery for clients

Experience requirements:

1. ACA/ACCA qualified OR QBE with strong relevant experience
2. Practiced trained with experience in audit and accounts
3. Experience with statutory accounts is essential
4. Positive, enthusiastic, and a strong people person with excellent communication skills at all levels
