Job summary

Arqit Limited in Belfast is seeking a highly capable Financial Controller / Finance Manager to lead the Belfast Finance Operations Centre. You will own the monthly close, IFRS reporting and SOX/SEC compliance in a multi-entity group, working closely with the CFO and Group Financial Controller.

This senior role offers hybrid working from Belfast city centre, with periodic travel to London and other locations, and a chance to shape financial controls and process improvements across the rapidly

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with post‑qualification experience in IFRS.
• Experience of IFRS reporting in multi‑entity, multi‑currency environments.
• Experience with SEC reporting (20‑F/6‑K) and SOX compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close across three legal entities.
• Prepare and review Board reporting packs and monthly management accounts.
• Own SOX compliance oversight for the Belfast team.
• Coordinate the annual 20‑F and quarterly 6‑K SEC reporting cycle.
• Prepare statutory accounts and ensure tax filings are timely.
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors and advisors.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial processes with automation.
• Partner with Group Financial Controller on technical accounting matters.
• Support international expansion activities and CFO‑level projects.

We are looking for a highly motivated Financial Controller / Finance Managerto lead our Belfast Finance Operations Centre. This is a senior hire with broad ownership of the Group’s financial close, reporting and compliance activities. You will be a key member of the finance leadership team, working closely with the CFO and Group Financial Controller. The role is based in our Belfast city centre office, with flexibility for hybrid working. Periodic travel to our London headquarters and other Group locations may be required.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead the monthly close process across three legal entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS
• Prepare and review Board reporting packs and monthly management accounts
• Own SOX compliance oversight for the Belfast team, including control documentation and testing
• Coordinate the annual 20-F and quarterly 6-K SEC reporting cycle
• Prepare statutory accounts for all legal entities, ensuring tax compliance requirements are met and all tax filings are submitted on time
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors and advisors
• Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, embracing automation and system efficiencies
• Partner with the Group Financial Controller on technical accounting matters and policy updates
• Support international expansion activities and ad hoc CFO-level projects

What we’re looking for

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with relevant post-qualified experience
• Experience of IFRS reporting in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment
• Prior involvement in SEC reporting (20-F / 6-K) and/or SOX compliance
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present to senior stakeholders
• Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
