Job Description:

Pink Giraffe is a recruitment agency hiring on behalf of the client.

The role is fully remote for the majority of the time, with a requirement to visit Bristol once a month for team meetings (please only apply if you are able).

You must have full right to work / UK citizenship and experience working for marketing agencies (either in-house or as a client).

Reports to: Company owner.

The Client Financial Controller will oversee finance operations for a portfolio of clients and lead the internal finance team. Responsibilities include collaborating with clients, providing strategic insights, setting procedures, and supervising financial activities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Client Financial Operations & Reporting:

• Manage daily financial operations including invoicing, payroll, tax returns, bank reconciliations, and reporting.
• Lead planning, budgeting, and forecasting for clients.
• Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and monthly adjustments.
• Prepare management accounts with commentary.
• Work with client department heads to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Consult with clients and suggest process improvements.
• Attend meetings with client leadership, investors, and advisors, presenting financial reports.
• Meet reporting deadlines and complete month-end processes.

2. Internal Control and Processes:

• Establish and maintain financial procedures for reliability and internal control.
• Ensure systems support current and future growth.
• Coordinate with outsourced partners for bookkeeping, accounts, and tax returns.
• Supervise VAT returns, payroll, and month-end closing.
• Assess and mitigate financial and operational risks.

Other Responsibilities:

• Recruit, mentor, and develop the finance team.
• Collaborate with accountants and client teams.
• Plan for succession within the company.
• Lead and manage the financial team.
• Follow company policies and build client relationships.
• Motivate and challenge team members.
