Pink Giraffe is a recruitment agency hiring on behalf of the client.

The role is fully remote for the majority of the time, with a requirement to visit Bristol once a month for team meetings (please only apply if you are able).

You must have full right to work / UK citizenship.

You must have experience working for marketing agencies (either in-house or as a client).

Reports to: The role reports directly to the company owner.

The Client Financial Controller will oversee finance operations for a portfolio of clients, lead and develop the internal finance team, collaborate with clients to understand their financial needs, provide strategic insights, and ensure high-quality financial services. Responsibilities include setting internal procedures, leading the team, and supervising financial operations within the company.

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Client Financial Operations & Reporting:

• Manage day-to-day financial operations including invoicing, payroll, tax returns, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Lead planning, budgeting, and forecasting for clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and post accruals & prepayments and other monthly accounting adjustments.
• Prepare management accounts with commentary.
• Work with client department heads to drive profitability, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
• Advise clients and suggest process improvements.
• Attend meetings with client leadership, investors, and advisors; present financial reports and insights.
• Meet all reporting deadlines and complete month-end processes promptly.

2. Internal Control and Processes:

• Establish and maintain financial procedures to ensure reliable financial information and internal controls.
• Ensure financial systems are scalable for growth.
• Coordinate with outsourced partners regarding bookkeeping, accounts, and tax returns.
• Supervise VAT returns, payroll, and month-end closing.
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
