Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the Markham Vale site Finance function, delivering robust financial control, accurate reporting, and compliance with group standards. The role reports to the General Manager with dotted line to the UK CFO and involves driving performance and profitability through rigorous financial insight.

You will own the close process, budgeting, and forecasting, partnering with operational teams to influence cost control and capital decisions.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant with senior finance experience.
• Proven track record in financial control, reporting and audit.
• Experience leading and developing teams and delivering budgets/forecasts.

Responsibilities

• Lead site Finance function and ensure robust financial control.
• Own monthly close, reporting and variance analysis.
• Maintain strong governance, controls and audit readiness.
• Provide financial insight to improve profitability and operational performance.
• Develop budgets and forecasts aligned with strategy.
• Partner with operations to influence cost and capital decisions.
• Coach and develop Finance team for high performance.
