Financial Controller, Permanent, job in Welshpool paying £60,000 - £75,000 per annum

Your new company
Hays Senior Finance are delighted to be partnered with this great manufacturing business based in Welshpool who are looking to recruit a Financial Controller.
They are a dynamic and rapidly growing business who are going through a very exciting period. The company is a trusted brand who pride themselves on manufacturing a premium product and delivering excellent customer service. The organisation is a leading manufacturer within their field and is a trusted brand who have been established for over 20 years.
They are looking for a driven Financial Controller to join the business as it pursues its growth plans. The individual will ensure the smooth running and control across the finance function, provide proactive support to the MD and establish high-quality reporting of management information to the board, lenders and shareholders. This is a newly created role that brings an exciting opportunity for the right individual to have a significant impact on the future success of the company.

Your new role

The role is a varied one and will involve:

  • Prepare monthly consolidated management accounts on a timely and accurate basis (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statement and KPIs
  • Establish KPI reporting pack
  • Responsible for cash flow management and ongoing cash forecasting
  • Prepare annual budgets and re-forecasts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and KPIs)
  • Ensure that financial controls are robust, sustainable and maintained
  • Manage AR and AP, ensuring efficient working capital management
  • Responsible for timely production of statutory accounts
  • Responsible for overseeing the statutory audit through to completion
  • Maintain fixed asset register
  • Perform monthly reconciliations
  • Ensure the company adheres to tax compliance requirements
  • Monitor banking covenants and provides monthly information to the lender
  • Management of a high-performing and efficient finance function and team
  • Identify operational efficiencies to improve performance and mitigate risk
  • Other responsibilities as required by the board
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with previous experience of working within the manufacturing industry. They will have strong communication skills and the ability to build great working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The individual will be self-motivated and results-orientated; They will possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
