Autumnal Partners are currently recruiting on behalf of dynamic and growing Fund of Hedge Funds with a global investor base. As part of their continued growth, they are seeking a Financial Controller to take ownership of corporate reporting and help streamline and enhance their internal finance infrastructure. This is a high-visibility role with exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how the business operates.

Role Overview:

This role will have primary responsibility for corporate financial reporting including statutory accounts, management reporting, budgeting/forecasting, and regulatory filings. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong technical reporting experience and a keen interest in systems and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts and board reporting packs.
• Prepare statutory financial statements for the management company and affiliated entities.
• Oversee audit processes for corporate entities, working closely with external auditors.
• Own and refine budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
• Manage intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, and group consolidations (where applicable).

Systems, Data & Process Enhancement

• Drive automation and improvement of internal reporting processes.
• Maintain and develop financial systems and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel models, ERP/accounting systems).
• Identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiency and improved data integrity.
• Coordinate and review fund NAVs and performance metrics calculated by third-party administrators.
• Review capital activity (subscriptions/redemptions), investor allocations, and fee calculations.
• Monitor fund expenses, accruals, and cash movements.
• Oversee fund audits and ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

Tax, Compliance & Regulatory

• Liaise with external tax advisors on corporate tax compliance and filings.
• Support regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., FCA, Companies House, etc.).
• Ensure financial processes and documentation meet internal control and compliance standards.

Business Partnering

• Collaborate with investment, legal, operations, and investor relations teams on financial matters.
• Provide financial insight to support strategic decisions, cost control, and business planning.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA or equivalent), ideally trained in a Big 4 or top-tier accounting firm.
• minimum of 5 years of post qualified relevant experience, ideally within asset management or a related financial services environment.
• Proven track record in corporate reporting, management accounts, and statutory accounts preparation.
• Strong systems skills — experience with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Sage, Xero) and reporting tools (Power BI, advanced Excel, SQL desirable).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proactive mindset.
