About the Role

Financial Controller/ Finance Manager

People Dynamix Education are seeking an experienced Financial Controller / Finance Manager to join a leading Further Education College on a temporary basis.

This is a key leadership position within the College's Finance & Corporate Services Directorate, responsible for ensuring robust financial management, compliance, and strategic oversight across the College Group and its subsidiary companies.

You will play a crucial role in maintaining the College's financial integrity—providing accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting, leading the finance team, and supporting strategic decision-making at senior leadership level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Finance function, providing both operational and strategic leadership.

  • Prepare and deliver accurate monthly and annual management accounts in line with statutory and audit requirements.

  • Develop and maintain robust financial systems, ensuring compliance with funding and financial regulations.

  • Support the College's annual business planning and budgeting process, including profitability, cashflow, and capital expenditure forecasting.

  • Consolidate subsidiary company accounts into the College Group's financial statements.

  • Provide financial insight and advice to the Senior Leadership Team, Governing Body, and subsidiary Boards.

  • Line manage and support the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Deputise for the Vice Principal - Finance & Corporate Services when required.

What We're Looking For
  • Fully qualified CCAB Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

  • Proven success in a senior financial management role-ideally within education or another public sector setting.

  • Strong understanding of funding methodology and statutory financial regulations for the education sector.

  • Demonstrable experience in budget planning, group consolidation, and financial control.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Confident using Microsoft Office and financial management systems.
