Job Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws, VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax requirements.
  • Manage statutory audits, liaising with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial adjustments.
  • Implement and enforce internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Handle Intercompany transactions in compliance with Company policies and procedures
  • Assist with treasury operations, including cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning
  • Supervise the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Manage and mentor a team of accountants and finance professionals, ensuring high performance.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Build partnership with EMEA Commercial and Operational Leadership. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis
  • Assist in budget preparation, financial planning, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Provide variance analysis and insights to support business decision-making.
  • Process Improvement & Systems Management
  • Identify and implement efficiencies in accounting processes, leveraging automation and best practices.
  • Oversee the use of accounting systems (Nav Business Central, SAP, etc.) and recommend improvements. Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Work closely with senior management, finance teams, and operational departments to support financial goals.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to drive strategic decision-making

The Successful Applicant

A successful Accounting Manager should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) required.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a team lead/ managerial role.
  • Experience in a multinational or corporate environment preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and be detail oriented with the ability to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment.
  • USGAAP and SOX experience advantageous
  • Able to apply consistent standards while adapting to frequent changes in Company requirements.
  • Be flexible and able to work with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, and Word skills are required. Experience with Business Central or similar ERP is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and another European language would be highly regarded (French, Italian or Spanish)
