A fully qualified Financial Controller with a proven track record working within the Media/Creative Agency industry.

We are looking for a qualified Financial Controller for a growing Media Agency based in Central London. The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis reporting into the Head of Finance.

As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing the month-end process, statutory accounting, and assisting with audits. You will also play a key role in developing and implementing accounting controls and delivering management information.

The role offers a hybrid working model with three days in the office per week. We seek a fully qualified accountant capable of thriving in a busy media agency environment and managing one direct report.

Key responsibilities:

• Ownership of the month-end process, including management accounts preparation and board pack presentation
• Annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting
• Preparing cash flows
• Producing annual statutory accounts and internal financial reports
• Ensuring timely processing of client fee and expense billings, managing WIP, revenue, and expense recognition
• Managing VAT returns and compliance
• Ownership of management reporting, revenue recognition, and variance analysis
• Reviewing and improving accounting and management information systems for better insights
• Managing daily financial operations and leading the finance team
• Supporting the Head of Finance with commercial projects
• Uploading budgets onto Paprika and reconciling production jobs
• Overseeing weekly job profitability reports
• Managing an Accounts Assistant and supporting the wider finance team
• Performing other ad hoc financial duties

Qualifications and experience:

• Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant
• Experience in the Media/Creative industry is preferred
• Experience with revenue recognition and WIP management
• Knowledge of Paprika software is advantageous
• Previous managerial experience is beneficial
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident team player with a collaborative approach
• Capable of communicating effectively at all levels and delivering management information
• Strong systems knowledge, particularly MS Excel
