Description

The nature of this role is very much hands-on, with the Financial Controller responsible for day-to-day ownership of all accounting and finance matters, whilst also leading financial strategy. The role has one direct report, and will be responsible for staff management and development.

As Company Secretary, the individual will be responsible for ensuring that all Company Secretarial functions are carried out accurately and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

Finance:
• Preparation of timely monthly management accounts
• Preparation of interim and year-end statutory accounts, including audit liaison, to completion
• Managing day-to-day accounting operations
• Ensuring compliance with all current and future tax and regulatory finance requirements, including preparation and submission of all tax filings
• Addressing all internal and external queries related to Finance
• Managing treasury functions
• Corporate valuation matters
• Assistance in preparation of ICARA
• Preparation and subsequent delivery of Finance business plan
• Ensuring all Finance policies are relevant and up-to-date
• Leading all business wide initiatives from a Finance perspective
• Ensuring accurate and timely payroll (UK and overseas) and tax compliance
• Managing employer related tax registrations and tax compliance in relevant jurisdictions
• Managing employee purchases and sales of company shares including tax compliance and co sec aspects
• Overseeing pension arrangements and other benefits, including tax related matters
• Ensuring ongoing adherence to existing and future regulations
• Supporting the preparation of accounts for relevant funds, as well as ensuring compliance with all current and future tax and regulatory finance matters
• Providing appropriate finance support to relevant funds, including audit liaison
Other ad-hoc Finance tasks as required
Company Secretarial
• Preparation and delivery of the Company Secretarial business plan. This includes ensuring smooth everyday operations, as well as delivering strategic objectives.
• Provide comprehensive support to the Chair, Board and Management committee.
• Provide support to secretaries of other committees
• Ownership of all relevant corporate filings and internal records, ensuring compliance with relevant company legislation
• Maintain constitutional documents, ensuring they remain up-to-date and relevant
• Manage the dividend process and profit share process
• Other ad-hoc Company Secretarial tasks as required

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential
• Accountancy qualification (ACA or ACCA)
• Post qualification experience within an investment management firm
• Hands on tax and regulatory filing preparation (UK and overseas)

Desirable
• Investment Operations Certificate
• Investment Management Certificate
• Company Secretarial experience
• US tax filing experience
