Job summary

SLX Limited is seeking a Financial Controller to provide strategic leadership and plan the financial strategy for the business. You will ensure timely financial information for the CEO and Board, and enable informed decision making across the company.

The FC will oversee all financial aspects of SLX's business strategy, ensure financial integrity, and work with accounting systems (Sage 50 and in-house stock management) while applying project management skills to contracts and analysis.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and communicating with teams.
• Familiarity with Sage 50 and our inhouse Stock Management system.
• Project management skills including contract reviews and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial reports for SMT and Board.
• Prepare month end journals and WIP reports using sales pipeline.
• Prepare monthly management P&L, BS, Cashflow forecast.
• Analyse margins and other key performance variances.
• Prepare annual budget and cashflow forecast.
• Monitor and manage cashflow.
• Calcualte and review ROI on assets.
• Check and prepare monthly payroll file.
• Review expense claims.
• Reconcile Hire stock balance to stock management software.
• Review monthly supplier payments.
• Review credit control.
• Check and prepare VAT returns.
• Prepare year end files and liaise with accountants.
• Liaise with bank/finance providers.
• Arrange international payments.
• Manage employee/finance department.
• P11ds - prepare and submit.
• Review project margins.
• Provide insurance brokers with information for renewals
• Provide Sustainability Manager with required information
• Reconcile credit card accounts
• Review/credit check customer account applications
• Sales and purchase ledger processing
• Adhoc reports and information as required

As our Financial Controller, you will provide strategic leadership, plan the financial strategy for the business and be accountable for the provision of financial and perfomance information and provide transparent leadership to enable decision making across the company.

The FC will lead on all financial aspects of SLX's business strategy, ensure the timely flow of financial information to the CEO, Board and colleagues and ensure that financial systems and practices enable them to maintain financial integrity and ongoing financial resilience. The FC will need to demonstrate a wide range of experience leading and communicating with teams, familiarity with accounting systems (Sage Line 50 and our inhouse Stock Management system) and project management skills such as contract reviews and analysis.
