Job summary

Tech Connect Group in Warrington seeks a fully qualified accountant with strong manufacturing costing background to own the northern operations. The role involves leading month-end close, audits, and delivering management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and group reporting.

You will partner with operational heads to drive performance, analyze margins, manage working capital, and maintain UK GAAP compliance while implementing improvements in Dynamics 365 and Power BI.

Job description

Are you a fully qualified accountant ready to make a real impact in a growing automotive business? Following its best financial year to date, this specialist manufacturer is looking for an experienced finance professional with a strong background in manufacturing and costing to take ownership of its northern operations.

Driven by a strong set of core values, they are looking for a friendly, hardworking, qualified accountant to join the team and help maintain their exceptionally high standards.

This role requires on-site presence between the two sites, plus quarterly travel to the Midlands and occasional travel for group European activities. Benefits include a car allowance of over £10,000, PMI cover and a bonus scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end close, oversee full statutory year-end audits, and deliver accurate management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and group reporting.
• Partner with operational heads to drive performance, analyse gross margins, track KPIs, and manage working capital (cash, stock, debtors, and creditors).
• Maintain robust internal financial controls, balance sheet reconciliations, UK GAAP compliance, and oversee tax/VAT returns.
• Optimise financial systems (including post-implementation support for Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP) and drive continuous process improvements.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop direct reports, while overseeing payroll inputs and day-to-day ledger management.

Key Skills & Experience:

• ACA, CIMA, or ACCA qualified accountant with a strong technical background and proven experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced hands‑on experience as a key user of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or an equivalent production ERP system), alongside strong capability in developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Demonstrated experience managing and developing a finance team, combined with a proactive, hands‑on approach to partnering with operational stakeholders.
• Highly analytical, systematic, and process‑orientated with a high attention to detail, capable of multitasking and managing a diverse workload.
• Willingness and ability to travel to other sites across the UK as required by the business.
