Sheridan Maine is excited to be partnering with a dynamic organisation based in Southampton. They are seeking a Financial Controller on a contract basis, with extensive experience in managing the finance function and a small team.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

1. Managing the end-to-end accounting function for the business
2. Overseeing payroll processing and credit control activities
3. Producing statutory reports and submitting accounts
4. Supporting, mentoring, and upskilling a small finance team as needed
5. Playing a key role in producing analysis and commentary for all business reports in a timely manner
6. Being a strong team player and collaborating closely with the Finance Director and assisting with ad hoc tasks as required.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

1. Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or QBE with substantial relevant experience
2. Proven management and leadership experience
3. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with finance and non-finance individuals
4. Advanced Excel and systems skills
5. Experience overseeing transactional finance, especially payroll operations
