Job description

Sheridan Maine is excited to be partnering with a dynamic organisation based in Southampton. They are seeking a Financial Controller on acontract basis, with extensive experience in managing the finance function and a small team.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Managing the end-to-end accounting function for the business.
  • Overseeing payroll processing and credit control activities.
  • Producing statutory reports and submitting accounts.
  • Supporting, mentoring, and upskilling a small finance team as needed.
  • Playing a key role in producing analysis and commentary for all business reports in a timely manner.
  • Being a strong team player and collaborating closely with the Finance Director and assisting with ad hoc tasks as required.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or QBE with substantial relevant experience.
  • Proven management and leadership experience.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with finance and non-finance individuals.
  • Advanced Excel and systems skills.
  • Experience overseeing transactional finance, especially payroll operations.
