Job description

A rapidly growing and exciting business in Sheffield City Centre has a vacancy for an ambitious Financial Controller.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee accounting operations and ensure duties are fulfilled and appropriately segregated.
2. Conduct comprehensive reviews of financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory standards.
3. Lead the end-to-end audit process of current systems, acting as a point of contact for auditors.
4. Develop and implement internal controls in collaboration with Corporate to ensure the accuracy and security of financial data.
5. Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, supporting audit standards.
6. Control the preparation and interpretation of statutory accounts and present findings.
7. Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.
8. Support in the development and management of annual budgets, forecast future financial performance, and monitor variances against budget.
9. Manage the month-end and year-end close process and prepare financial reporting packages.

Qualifications:

• Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA with strong technical accounting skills.
• Significant experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Outlook.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of financial regulations and legislation, including revenue recognition standards.
• Confident, collaborative team player, agile, and self-starter.
