We're Hiring: Financial Controller

Location: Hybrid – Remote & Complete HQ, Saltash, Cornwall (just outside Plymouth)

Type: Full-time (with flexible working options)

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

At Complete HQ, we partner with ambitious businesses to provide strategic finance support, accounting, and back-office excellence. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Financial Controller to join our team and work directly with our brilliant clients across the UK.

This is a hybrid role, offering plenty of flexibility to work remotely, but the successful candidate will also need to travel to our Saltash office as required — typically for team meetings, client sessions, or collaboration days.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll act as an outsourced Financial Controller for a portfolio of clients — embedding yourself in their day-to-day operations and helping to drive financial clarity, accuracy, and decision-making. Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing day-to-day financial management for client businesses
• Running and managing weekly/monthly payment cycles
• Preparing and presenting insightful management accounts and financial reports
• Managing cashflow forecasting and budgeting processes
• Leading communications with clients, suppliers, and customers
• Supporting clients with month-end processes and reconciliations
• Ensuring timely completion of VAT returns and payroll reviews
• Identifying opportunities for financial efficiencies and controls

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in a Financial Controller, senior management accountant, or similar role
• Strong knowledge of Xero, with experience using Dext and Telleroo (or similar platforms)
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills — you'll be client-facing
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to work across multiple sectors
• Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• A proactive and adaptable mindset — someone who thrives in a fast-paced, modern accounting environment
• An accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT or equivalent)
