Job summary

Indevor Group is seeking an experienced Financial Controller / Head of Finance to lead the finance function for Indevor Bonds, taking ownership of financial operations and shaping strategic commercial decisions.

You will work closely with the Managing Director and Group Directors, delivering robust controls, insightful analysis and scalable processes to support growth. Hybrid after embedding into the team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Financial Controller or Head of Finance.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge across full finance function.
• Experience producing management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Excellent cash-flow management and financial controls.
• Independent, proactive thinker with strong commercial sense.
• Proven ability to work with senior management and external advisers.
• Experience in regulated environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day finance function with accurate reporting and controls.
• Lead month-end processes and produce management accounts and financial commentary.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, forecasts and annual budgets.
• Provide financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with MD and Group Directors to assess performance and risks.
• Oversee invoicing, payroll, supplier payments and tax submissions.
• Develop and implement robust financial systems and controls.

Key Responsibilities

As Financial Controller / Head of Finance, you will take responsibility for the overall financial management of Indevor Bonds.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking full ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, effective controls and financial accountability.
• Leading the month-end process, producing management accounts, balance sheets, profit and loss reports and financial commentary.
• Managing cash flow, working capital, financial forecasts and annual budgets.
• Providing meaningful financial analysis and commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.
• Working closely with the Managing Director and Group Directors to assess business performance, opportunities and financial risks.
• Overseeing invoicing, credit control, supplier payments and payroll arrangements.
• Managing statutory reporting, tax submissions and audit requirements alongside external advisers.
• Reviewing and improving financial systems, internal controls and operational processes.
• Ensuring appropriate accounting treatment of income streams, financial obligations and intercompany transactions.
• Building, mentoring and developing the finance team as the business continues to grow.
• Acting as the primary finance contact for senior leadership, external accountants and relevant advisers.
• Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen profitability and support sustainable business growth.

About You

We are looking for a confident, commercially minded finance professional who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with a proactive, hands-on approach.

Ideally, you will demonstrate:

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or in a comparable senior finance position.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience overseeing a complete finance function.
• Experience producing management accounts, financial reports, budgets and forecasts.
• Excellent understanding of cash-flow management, financial controls and commercial performance.
• The ability to work independently, take ownership and make informed financial decisions.
• Experience working closely with senior management, directors or business owners.
• A practical approach to solving problems and improving systems and processes.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear commercial recommendations.
• Previous experience managing, mentoring or developing finance colleagues.
• The ambition and confidence to help shape a finance function within a growing organisation.

Experience within financial services, insurance, broking, surety or another regulated environment would be particularly advantageous, although we are equally interested in candidates from other sectors who can demonstrate strong financial leadership and commercial awareness.
