As Finance Controller, you will manage the daily income and expenses of the hotel, prepare the monthly management reports, and support the hotel management team.

Please note the salary for the role is up to £35k a year DOE.

What will I be doing?
  • Daily income/payments verification & reconciliation.
  • Management Reporting & Forecasting
  • Support General Manager & Heads of Department with annual budget & quarterly/weekly reforecasts.
  • Work with Heads of Departments to facilitate roster reviews and wages control.
  • Process supplier invoices & assist with departmental cost controls.
  • Check agent commissions against HMS Infor & approve invoices.
  • Manage bank deposits & petty cash control.
  • Reconcile credit card payments & investigate disputes.
  • Perform month-end processes & reconciliations, including stock counts validation.
  • Complete & review the Monthly Management Accounts.
  • Analyze budget drivers and provide commentary on variances.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports/analysis for management to support business decisions.
  • Support finance system training for operational teams.
  • Assist with finance functions at other properties as needed.

This role supports both local management and central finance, ensuring accurate financial records and contributing to overall financial management.

What are we looking for?
  • Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance is advantageous, or equivalent experience in hospitality finance.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and maintaining financial records.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and propose solutions.
  • Understanding of confidentiality in handling financial data.
