We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join a high performing finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior position in a business backed by private equity, where you'll play a key role in shaping financial strategy and leading a team.
Client Details
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Financial Controller will oversee a team, covering management accounts, accounts payable, and credit control. This is a broad and hands-on role involving financial reporting, cashflow forecasting, internal controls, audit management, and business partnering. You'll also be exposed to strategic projects, including system implementations and potential acquisitions.
Description
Lead and manage a finance team across key functions.
Deliver timely and accurate management accounts, board packs, and financial reporting.
Own the audit process and ensure statutory compliance (UK GAAP / FRS102).
Maintain strong financial controls and carry out regular balance sheet reconciliations.
Manage cashflow forecasting and oversee payment processes.
Support department heads in understanding and analysing costs.
Liaise with external advisors on taxation and compliance matters.
Produce group budgets and reforecasts, combining inputs from all departments.
Build and maintain relationships with financial institutions.
Review and oversee payroll processes.
Take a lead role in finance-related strategic projects.
Profile
ACA or ACCA qualified, ideally with a background in a Top 10 / Big 4 accountancy firm.
At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in industry or practice.
Strong technical accounting knowledge and audit experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proactive, organised, and comfortable working to deadlines.
Proven leadership skills with experience developing and mentoring teams.
Strong Excel and system skills.
Comfortable working predominantly on-site, with occasional travel to other locations.
Job Offer
Salary in the region of £60,000 to £70,000
