Job summary

Reed Finance is partnering with a growing manufacturing business to recruit a Financial Controller. You will own the regional finance function and report to the Senior Leadership Team, driving performance and delivering timely financial information.

You will lead a finance team, strengthen internal controls, and provide insight to support strategic decisions across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA credentials.
• Experience as Financial Controller or senior finance leader in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in a manufacturing sector.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, controls, compliance and statutory requirements.
• Proven people management and leadership experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the regional finance function.
• Deliver accurate weekly and monthly financial reporting to SLT and the Board.
• Drive improvements in controls and processes to support strategic decisions.
• Coordinate budgeting, forecasts and financial planning.
• Optimise working capital and cash flow with IT for system efficiencies.

Reed Finance are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing manufacturing organisation to recruit a Financial Controller.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to take ownership of a regional finance function within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a key role in driving financial performance, strengthening controls, enhancing reporting, and supporting strategic decision‑making across the business. Leading a finance team, you will ensure the delivery of accurate financial information while contributing to the continued growth and success of the organisation.

Duties Include:

• Contributing to the development and execution of business strategy from a financial perspective.
• Managing the day-to-day performance of the finance department and leading the finance team.
• Developing and documenting financial processes, accounting policies, and internal controls to ensure compliance and best practice.
• Ensuring compliance with the latest accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Producing accurate and timely weekly and monthly financial reporting for senior leadership and the Board.
• Providing meaningful financial analysis and insight to support business performance and decision‑making.
• Supporting the preparation of rolling forecasts, budgets, and financial plans.
• Coordinating budget submissions and preparing budget deliverables.
• Driving improvements in working capital management and short-term cash flow forecasting.
• Working closely with IT to optimise financial systems, improve efficiencies, and minimise risk.
• Supporting the implementation of corrective actions to improve business performance.
• Recruiting, developing, coaching, and motivating finance team members to achieve continual improvement.

Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Previous experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership position.
• Experience gained within a fast-paced operational Manufacturing Sector environment.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, controls, compliance, and statutory requirements.
• Proven people management and leadership experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong systems knowledge and proficiency with accounting software.
• Commercially minded with a proactive and solutions‑focused approach.
