Financial Controller

Up to £58,000 DOE plus excellent benefits

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to provide leadership, strategic vision and management to a public sector organisation based in Tyne and Wear.

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you will contribute to the strategic goals by shaping through the creation and implementation of departmental strategies and plans.

Responsibilities

  • To oversee the preparation, management and closure of the Statutory Accounts.
  • To prepare, monitor, review and manage the Revenue and Capital budgets
  • Lead the development, management and evaluation of strategic organisational projects and activities
  • Prepare and produce quality management reports.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a public sector organisation
  • Experience managing and leading a team, with responsibility for both people and process
  • Revenue and Capital budget setting and management experience
  • Experience producing Statutory accounts.
  • Experience providing financial advice and guidance that adds value.

Qualifications required:

  • Full CCAB membership, preferably CIPFA

Salary & Benefits:

  • £55,000 to £58,000 per annum DOE with excellent employee benefits.
  • Generous leave entitlement commencing at 23 days plus Public Holidays and 3 local days to be used over the Christmas period
