About the Role

We’re looking for a high-calibre Financial Controller to lead the day-to-day operations of our finance function and support the strategic growth of the business. This is a hands-on, commercially-minded role, ideal for someone who has trained in a leading accountancy firm and gone on to build a strong track record in industry, ideally within a tech or recurring revenue environment.

You’ll work closely with the CFO and leadership team, ensuring robust financial operations, insightful reporting, and a high-performance finance team. This role is designed with progression in mind, with a clear path to Finance Director over the next few years.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the finance team and oversee all core finance processes including month-end close, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Act as a key business partner to teams across the organisation, providing financial insight to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and controls to support scaling.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors and advisors.
• Support the CFO with board reporting, cash flow planning, and long-term financial strategy.
• Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

About You

• Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent), ideally with a background in a leading accountancy firm.
• Significant post-qualification experience in industry, preferably in a fast-paced, tech-enabled or recurring revenue business.
• Strong technical grounding coupled with commercial acumen and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
• Excellent communicator who can work confidently with senior stakeholders.
• Ambitious, hands-on, and ready to step into a broader leadership role in the near future.
