Job description

Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Liverpool Street, London (Hybrid working 2 days in the office)

Pay: £24 - £27 per hour

Duration: Temporary, 6 months

Hours/days: Monday - Thursday 9am-6pm (Full time during busy periods closer to audits)

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: September 2025

Responsibilities:
  1. Complete month-end reporting with precision and accuracy.
  2. Prepare management accounts to provide valuable insights.
  3. Review financial statements including receipts and invoices.
  4. Prepare essential financial documents such as balance sheets and P&L.
  5. Manage corporate financial requirements, including updates to Companies House and tax management.
  6. Complete financial and management reporting to support strategic decisions.
  7. Assist with financial audit preparations and collaborate closely with the finance team and auditors.
Experience/Skill Set Required:
  1. Proven experience at the Finance Manager level, particularly in charities or non-profit organisations.
  2. Strong background in completing audits from a wider group perspective, not limited to small entities.
  3. Deep understanding of P&L and the ability to compile it effectively.
  4. Experience with audits specifically for non-profit organisations or charities.
  5. Familiarity with corporate benefits.
  6. Proficiency in financial systems like Xero and confident in Excel (formulas, data preparation, management).
  7. Experience with Spandesk for processing payments and managing invoices.
