Financial Controller

Location: Bristol

Pay: £258.83 and upwards, per day

Type: 1-year fixed-term contract

Hours: Full Time, all year round

Start date: ASAP

Elementa Support Services is delighted to present an exciting opportunity for aFinancial Controller within a reputable education company located in Kingswood, South Gloucestershire. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to a vibrant multi-academy trust within the dedicated central team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and control financial budgets, forecasts, and reports.
  • Ensure financial policies and procedures are implemented effectively.
  • Work closely with the school's leadership team to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to finance staff, ensuring best practices are followed.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Experience as a School Business Manager or in a similar financial role within an educational context.
  • Fully qualified accountant with 5+ years’ experience.
  • Excellent financial management and reporting skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of academy funding, regulations, and financial compliance.
  • Experience in financial analysis and ability to interrogate data.
  • The ability to challenge and hold people to account, influence others and prioritise effectively.
  • Confidencein presenting financial data to a wide range of audiences.
