Job summary

Global Accounting Network Limited is partnering with a leading property developer and contractor to appoint a Financial Controller. You will lead the transition from quarterly to monthly closes, producing comprehensive monthly packs with P&L, balance sheets and KPI commentary.

You will oversee revenue recognition on long-term contracts under FRS 102, manage WIP and deferred income, and develop rolling cash flow forecasts for ongoing projects, ensuring VAT compliance across entities.

Qualifications

• ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualification with UK GAAP/FRS 102 knowledge.
• Experience as Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager in construction or project-led environments.
• Proven ability to improve reporting cycles and manage multi-entity finances.
• Experience with long-term contract revenue recognition, CIS and VAT compliance.
• Strong Excel and ERP system proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Transition the group from quarterly to disciplined monthly financial closes, defining timetables and approval processes.
• Produce comprehensive monthly financial packs, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and KPIs with insightful commentary.
• Manage revenue recognition on long-term contracts under FRS 102, ensuring full support for WIP and deferred income.

Key Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with a solid grounding in UK GAAP and FRS 102.
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager role, within construction or project-led environments.
• Strong track record of improving reporting cycles and managing multi-entity financial processes.
• Experience in long-term contract revenue recognition and familiarity with CIS and VAT compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort with ERP systems, contributing to a hands-on finance team.
