Job summary

Avanti Communications in London seeks a qualified Financial Controller to own the financial control of its primary trading entity and partner with senior leadership on commercial finance decisions.

The role targets ~2 years post-qualification experience, with strong IFRS knowledge and advanced Excel skills to drive reporting, cash flow management and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Around 2 years' post-qualified experience.
• Strong IFRS knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the financial control of Avanti's primary trading entity.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, P&L reporting and detailed financial analysis.
• Manage month-end processes including journals, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and fixed assets.
• Oversee statutory reporting and coordinate with external auditors.
• Own the Group cash flow forecast and support liquidity planning.
• Provide commercial insight to improve financial performance and support decision-making.
• Business partner with senior leaders across the organisation.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and annual planning.
• Drive finance process improvements and systems development initiatives.
• Contribute to wider Finance projects and continuous improvement activities.

The Role: Financial Controller

We're looking for a qualified accountant to join our Finance team in London. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with around 2 years' post-qualified experience who wants to take ownership of a key trading entity while developing commercial, treasury and business partnering expertise.

You'll play a central role in financial reporting, cash flow management and strategic decision-making, working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Around of 2 years' post-qualified experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge under IFRS.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Desirable

• Experience within telecoms, technology or other fast-paced industries.
• Exposure to private equity-backed businesses.
• Experience using NetSuite.
• Previous involvement in statutory accounts preparation and external audits.
• Experience mentoring and supporting more junior finance team members, or a natural ability to help develop others would be advantageous
