Job description

Step into your first Financial Controller position-or finally get the autonomy to lead a team your way.

You'll work for a newly appointed Finance Director who wants your input. That means a genuine say in how the function evolves, how systems are used and how the team is shaped.

If you've been stuck behind processes that don't change, here you'll help rewrite them.

You'll only need to be in the office four days a week-one day is work-from-home for focus work.

Prefer a 4-day week? That's possible too, as this is a new role created to give the new Finance Director extra bandwidth.

The office's central Cirencester location means everything's on your doorstep: decent lunch spots, walks in the park, and easy parking.

This setup suits someone stepping up from Practice or an experienced FC who enjoys mentoring.

You'll help train junior staff, support the FD, and take ownership of monthly reporting and process improvements-giving you hands-on exposure to systems, cash flow forecasting, and team leadership.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading the preparation and review of management accounts
  • Forecasting and reviewing monthly cashflow
  • Streamlining reporting processes and improving systems
  • Reviewing VAT and control accounts
  • Training and developing junior staff
  • Deputising for the FD where needed

You'll be joining a multi-entity business going through positive change. That means broad exposure to finance operations and plenty of opportunity to shape how things run.

What you'll need

  • Strong experience in management accounts and reporting
  • Experienced in developing others
  • Confident with Excel and data tools

Benefits and flexibility

  • 25 days holiday
  • Private medical insurance
  • Hybrid working (1 day from home, 4 days office-based)
  • Option for a 4-day work week (office-based)
  • 12-24 month contract-you choose what suits you. Open to considering candidates in permanent employment on up to 3 months notice.

The company

Based in Cirencester, the office is in a great spot with a calm atmosphere and easy access to outdoor spaces for when you take a break. The business is embarking on new chapter, so you'll be working in a team that's evolving and where your input will matter.
