Financial Controller
Location: Nottingham
Salary: £50,000 £55,000

A fast-growing business based in Nottingham is seeking a driven and commercially astute Financial Controller to oversee the day-to-day finance operations and support the leadership team with robust financial insight.

Within a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment, the business is looking for someone who is hands-on, process-focused, and ready to take ownership of the full finance function, reporting into an experienced CFO and MD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and board reporting

  • Oversight of transactional finance (AP, AR, bank reconciliations, credit control)

  • Payroll management and collaboration with HR

  • Cashflow forecasting and reporting

  • Statutory compliance and timely filings

  • Process improvements across finance and HR functions

  • Support with audit preparation and internal controls

  • Development and mentoring of junior finance staff

  • Cross-department collaboration to improve financial visibility

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance lead

  • Strong grasp of financial operations, compliance, and internal controls

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities

  • Confident user of modern finance systems and tools

  • Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills

  • Ideally, professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), though part-qualified candidates with relevant experience or those qualified by experience will also be considered

  • A high level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality
