Job summary

Footasylum, a leading UK-based retailer in streetwear and sportswear, seeks a Financial Controller to head the Reporting and Transactional Finance teams and partner the Finance Director to drive reporting, control and compliance. The role covers CAPEX, tax, risk management and strong stakeholder reporting, with leadership across the accounting function and collaboration with FP&A, procurement and banks.

This is a hybrid Head Office role in Greater Manchester, requiring hands-on leadership,

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA qualified.
• 3+ years post-qualification experience.
• Leadership skills and ability to motivate a team.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Management Reporting and Month End.
• Lead on Statutory Reporting and Audit.
• Manage Stakeholder Reporting (Aurelius, Banks etc.).
• UK and overseas VAT returns incl. liaising with tax advisors.
• Corporation tax incl. Capital Allowances, Transfer Pricing, R&D.
• Lead group insurance policies and risk management.
• Manage FX risk through hedging activities.
• Support cashflow forecasting and liquidity management.
• Ensure strong balance sheet controls and reconciliation.
• Oversee transactional finance incl. supplier and customer relationships.
• Budgeting and reporting capital expenditure; IFRS 16 Leases.

Footasylum is a leading UK-based retailer specialising in streetwear and sportswear, committed to delivering innovative and trend-setting products to our customers, with a strong focus on digital transformation and data-driven decision-making.

We are looking for a Financial Controller to head up the Reporting and Transactional Finance teams and to act as a true partner to the Finance Director. The role is varied and will be split between reporting, control and compliance with key responsibilities around capital expenditure and risk management.

The Team

The role will report into the Finance Director but will also work closely with FP&A, Business Partnering and Procurement. The role will head up the reporting team (management accounts as well as other statutory and stakeholder reporting) and transactional teams (incl. cash and banking, accounts payable, and accounts receivable). In the area of CAPEX there will be requirements to partner with the wider business around capital projects and budgets.
