Job description

VET.CT is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join our fun and friendly finance team!

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to support driving financial efficiency across VET.CT. If you are a results-driven finance professional looking for an exciting opportunity, we would love to hear from you!

Role Responsibilities

  • Preparation of accurate and timely management accounts and Board pack including key commercial business insights ready for CEO & CFO review. Provide the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with commercial insights to improve operational performance.
  • Ensure accuracy of internal management reporting with board pack reporting to ensure consistency of data across the business. Understand how financial information is being used across the business to increase overall participation and understanding of financial data.
  • Analyse business performance using data analytics on a weekly and monthly basis with a focus on reporting variances with key recommendations. The key focus area is client revenue analysis and reporting on key metrics such as client retention rates.
  • Identify and implement automation strategies across functions such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and month-end reporting tasks.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and management of group daily cash flow with weekly reporting to the CEO and CFO.
  • Work with the CEO and CFO to manage robust budget and forecasting processes for presentation to the board and SLT.
  • Ensure all compliance requirements are filed on time including the completion of the annual audit process within the timetable agreed with the CFO and auditors.
  • Review and enhance the internal control structure to ensure segregation of duties across the finance team.
  • Ensure all ledgers are being reconciled monthly including cash receipts and balance sheet reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis with reconciling items being identified and resolved.
  • Coach the finance team and implement a continuous improvement culture to support team members undertaking professional examinations.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Providing finance support to the Board and SLT.
  • Provide day-to-day input and support to the CEO, CFO, and the wider business.
Requirements
  • You will be a Chartered Accountant with strong technical accounting skills.
  • Proven Financial Controller experience ideally gained within a fast-paced business.
  • Experience of managing teams in a scale-up SME environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Passionate and collaborative attitude.
