Job description

We're partnering with a well-established, family-run property company that has built a strong reputation in the industrial and commercial real estate sector. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a Financial Controller to take a lead role in managing and developing the finance function in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of financial management, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and present financial performance to the board
  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and cash flow
  • Develop and maintain financial controls, processes, and compliance procedures
  • Support the preparation of year-end accounts, working with external auditors
  • Provide financial insight to support property acquisitions, disposals, and development projects
  • Manage service charge accounts and ensure regulatory compliance (e.g. VAT, RICS codes)
  • Lead and mentor a small finance team, promoting continuous improvement and development
Candidate Requirements:
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Experience in a property or real estate environment, ideally within industrial or commercial assets
  • Strong technical accounting skills and understanding of property-related financial reporting
  • Excellent commercial acumen and ability to present financial information to non-finance stakeholders
  • Experience with property management/accounting systems (e.g., Qube, MRI, Yardi) preferred
  • Hands-on, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-moving, owner-led business
