The role is responsible for executing general accounting processes within the organization. This involves maintaining specific sections of the chart of accounts, preparing journal entries and allocations, and handling accounts payable and receivable. Further, the role entails processing and reconciling intercompany transactions, performing general ledger reconciliations, and contributing to the period end close processes. Finally, the role requires preparing accounting reports for internal and external stakeholders, and staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies on accounting processes, providing relevant updates to management.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Executes general accounting processes according to established policies and procedures to maintain consistency, accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards;
- Maintains specific sections of the chart of accounts in the organization’s accounting system, applying defined categorization and organization of financial data to enable accurate financial reporting and analysis;
- Prepares journal entries and allocations, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the company’s accounting system;
- Handles Accounts Payable (AP), including invoice processing, payment scheduling and processing, maintaining vendor relations and allocating costs to appropriate accounts and cost centers;
- Handles Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoice customer processing, payment collection, maintaining customer relations and up-to-date records of AR transactions;
- Processes and reconciles intercompany transactions in accordance with established guidelines and ensures consistency across all entities;
- Performs reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts, identifying discrepancies and errors in financial data to be addressed;
- Contributes to the period end close processes by preparing specific accounts for financial statement inclusion;
- Prepares accounting reports / schedules for internal audiences and / or external audiences, including consolidation of financial statements, cash flow reporting, budget reporting;
- Monitors industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies on accounting processes, providing any relevant updates to management.
