Job description

At Montu UK, we are transforming access to healthcare, and behind our continued growth is a team of people helping to build a business that makes a genuine difference to patients' lives.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has a keen eye for detail and wants to develop their career within a fast-growing and evolving organisation.

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and enjoys being part of a team. Whether you have already gained experience in a finance environment or are at the beginning of your career, we want someone who is curious, willing to learn and takes pride in getting the details right.

What is the job?

As a Finance Assistant, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of Montu UK, helping to ensure our financial records are accurate, payments are processed efficiently and the Finance team has the information it needs to support the wider business.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you will be involved in everything from processing invoices and managing supplier payments to reconciling accounts, reviewing expenses and supporting financial reporting.

You will work closely with colleagues across the Finance team and wider business, helping to maintain accurate financial processes while identifying and resolving discrepancies.

As Montu continues to grow, there will also be opportunities to get involved in additional projects, develop your knowledge and take on greater responsibility.

What will you be doing?
  • Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring they are completed in line with agreed procedures and resolving any discrepancies
  • Supporting the administration of weekly supplier payment runs, ensuring all information is collated accurately and deadlines are met
  • Preparing and processing payment run files, submitting completed information for senior management authorisation
  • Creating supplier payments and remittance advice in line with approved payment runs
  • Reconciling bank accounts, supplier statements and financial ledgers, investigating and resolving any differences
  • Reviewing and processing employee expense claims in accordance with company policy, ensuring VAT is recorded accurately
  • Supporting the preparation of financial reports and providing information to team leads and management
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth running of day-to-day finance processes
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business and supporting additional finance projects as required
What do you need?
  • Around 1 to 2 years of experience in a finance, accounts or similar administrative role, although recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
  • Part-qualified AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ACA, or a relevant degree. We will also consider candidates who are qualified by experience or looking to begin their professional studies
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to working with financial information
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to work with colleagues across different teams
  • A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and confidence to ask questions when needed
  • The ability to adapt to changing priorities in a growing and fast-paced business
  • Working knowledge of Xero would be advantageous but is not essential

Above all, we are looking for someone who is reliable, enjoys working as part of a team and is motivated to develop their skills and experience within finance.

  • Generous annual leave: 25 days holiday, increasing to 27 days after one year of service and 30 days after two years, plus bank holidays
  • Pension scheme: Employer pension contributions of up to 5%
  • Private healthcare: Access to private healthcare benefits
  • Enhanced family leave: Enhanced maternity and paternity benefits
  • Career development: Opportunities to learn, develop and progress within a growing organisation
  • Meaningful work: Be part of a business that is improving patient access to treatment and making a genuine difference to people's lives
  • Collaborative environment: Work alongside a team of people who are passionate about what they do and committed to supporting the continued growth of Montu UK
