Service Care Solutions is working alongside a Local Authority in Nottingham to recruit a Schools Finance Assistant on a temporary contract. Below is a description of the role:

Role: School Finance Assistant

Contract: 5 months ongoing

Location: Nottingham

Working: Hybrid/Remote (with requirement for school visits)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee financial systems.
2. Handle bank reconciliations, accruals, journals, and virements; support budget preparation and monitoring.
3. Prepare and analyze financial reports, providing schools with financial insights.
4. Ensure adherence to local government and education sector financial regulations.
5. Proficiency in financial systems (Fusion/Oracle, FMS, BPS) and Excel/Office. Familiarity with Bromcom, Access, or Iris is a plus.
6. Experience with bank reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
7. Knowledge of school funding processes and local government finance.
8. AAT qualification (preferred but not essential).
9. Strong communication skills and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
