Role: Student Loan Finance Assistant

Location: Milton Keynes

Working hours: 5 days per week in the office

Job overview:

We are seeking a Student Loan Finance Assistant to deliver excellent customer service to students and support a small team with the administration and resolution of queries related to Student Loans, both UK and Overseas. This operational role differs from typical credit control functions.

• NVQ 4 or equivalent including English and Maths
• Medium-advanced experience in Excel
• Higher Education experience or Customer Service/Sales Ledger/Credit Control experience
• Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities
• Knowledge of Student Finance England and prior student loan/finance experience

Responsibilities:

• Investigate and respond to student or sponsor inquiries promptly and empathetically, enhancing customer experience
• Manage and reconcile payments from UK and international loan providers, ensuring accurate disbursements
• Advise students on financial support options, including loans, FEAs, bursaries, and scholarships
• Maintain accurate student financial records and coordinate with external agencies such as SfE, SAAS, Sallie Mae, FAFSA, and Veterans Affairs
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and accurate billing
• Deliver excellent customer service and manage complex data effectively
