Role: Student Loan Finance Assistant

Location: Milton Keynes

Working Pattern: 5 days per week in the office

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Student Loan Finance Assistant to provide excellent customer service to students and support a small team with the administration and resolution of queries related to Student Loans, both UK and Overseas. This operational role involves handling financial transactions and inquiries within a sector that differs from typical credit control functions.

Minimum Requirements:

• NVQ 4 or equivalent including English and Maths
• Medium-advanced experience in Excel
• Higher Education experience or background in Customer Service, Sales Ledger, or Credit Control
• Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities
• Prior experience with Student Loans or Finance
• Knowledge of Student Finance England

Responsibilities:

• Manage and reconcile payments from UK and international loan providers, ensuring accurate disbursements to students
• Advise students on financial support options, including loans, FEAs, bursaries, and scholarships
• Maintain accurate student financial records and process adjustments with external agencies such as Student Finance England, SAAS, Sallie Mae, FAFSA, and Veterans Affairs
• Collaborate internally to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate billing
• Provide excellent customer service to enhance the student experience
• Utilize strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills to manage complex data and resolve financial queries
