Employee Engagement Partner at The Condor Collective | Construction Recruiter

£25-35k depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm

A well-established construction business is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join its finance team on a permanent basis. Based in Billericay, this role will support financial operations across several business entities within the group.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in finance to develop their career in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the wider team with reporting and reconciliation tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing purchase and subcontractor invoices, along with staff expenses
  • Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes
  • Raising and issuing sales invoices across multiple entities
  • Maintaining supplier and customer records, and resolving invoice queries
  • Assisting with supplier payment runs
  • Supporting subcontractor CIS processing and verification
  • Managing the subcontractor payroll process and ensuring timely payments
  • Performing bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Assisting with monthly financial reporting
  • Responding to finance-related queries from suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Supporting ad hoc finance tasks as needed

Key Requirements:

  • AAT Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) as a minimum
  • Willingness to undertake training towards AAT Level 4 (full support provided)
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a finance or accounts role
  • Solid understanding of purchase and sales ledger procedures
  • Proficient in Excel (filters, basic formulas, and data checks)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to learn internal systems (e.g. Pegasus CIS)
  • Team-oriented, reliable, and positive in approach
  • Experience working within the construction sector
  • Knowledge of CIS and experience with subcontractor payments
  • Familiarity with Pegasus CIS or similar ERP systems
  • Exposure to multi-entity finance environments and month-end processes
