Job summary

A temporary employment agency is seeking a Financial Assessment Team Leader in Hedge End. Job description

Financial Assessment Team Leader needed in Southampton, GBP20.98ph

PAYE -

Requirements:
  • A Levels or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of processes and procedures relating to social care finance.
  • Understanding of calculations and criteria for assessing individuals' finances.
  • Awareness of financial support options available for social care.
  • Experience in technical administrative work.
  • Experience providing advice and information to service users.
  • Effective communication skills with empathy and tact for engaging with service users and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage workload and reprioritize tasks as needed.
Responsibilities:
  1. Work with clients or their representatives to calculate contributions to social care costs, including complex financial assessments requiring legal input.
  2. Coordinate with clients, care management staff, providers, and internal teams to ensure assessments and charges comply with regulations and policies.
  3. Provide advice on charges and options such as top-ups and deferred payments, and support clients in managing debts.
  4. Assist individuals in accessing welfare benefits when eligible.
  5. Identify and escalate safeguarding issues appropriately.
  6. Refer clients to independent financial advice when necessary.
  7. Offer procedural advice to social work teams, managers, clients, and relatives regarding financial assessments and benefits.

This is a full-time role on a temporary contract basis.
