Job description

a Bit About Flock

At Flock we do insurance very differently.

Our real-time, data-driven approach means we’re able to price connected vehicle insurance and assess risk better than ever before, whilst giving fleet owners the insights they need to improve safety. We don’t just pay claims; we help our customers prevent them. We now insure hundreds of fleets in the UK, including the likes of JLR and Amazon, as well as fleets that work for DPD, Uber and Bolt.

We've now raised over £50M and our goal is to become the leading insurance company for connected and autonomous vehicles, and we're building a world-class team to help us get there.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Finance team and help manage our credit exposures, working in close partnership with a range of internal and external stakeholders, particularly our brokers.

What We Think Is Most Exciting About This Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to all aspects of credit control within a small, innovative start-up environment. You'll have the chance to make a real impact from day one, helping to shape and professionalise our credit control function as we scale. With direct ownership of a portion of our debt portfolio, you’ll quickly see the results of your actions, from resolving issues with brokers and end customers to tightening our collections process. Alongside credit control, you’ll also support broader finance operations by producing broker statements and managing follow-up queries, giving you a well-rounded foundation. If you're eager to grow, you'll find plenty of opportunities to expand your skills across the wider Finance team as we continue to evolve.

A LITTLE MORE ON WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Daily debt collection
  • Handling process queries from brokers and working with underwriters to resolve account queries
  • Identifying overdue payments and taking corrective action in line with our credit risk management policy
  • Managing and tracking cancellations
  • Business partnering with internal clients including underwriting, revenue and customer operations teams including alignment on service level agreements and ensuring that we in Finance live up to our commitments
  • Identifying and raising issues with internal data quality that is holding the credit control function back
  • Communicating issues raised by brokers to the respective business team
  • Performing monthly reconciliations of broker statements
  • Monthly reporting: Providing business teams with a monthly aged debt summary for use in the renewals and claims handling
  • Playing your part in driving continuous improvement of the Flock credit control function

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO FLOCK

  • Professional approach to both internal and external clients, in particular brokers
  • The ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritise own work
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, diligence and a structured approach
  • Analytical skills, numeracy and data manipulation skills are essential
  • Experience of credit control is essential
  • Experience from an insurance company or an insurance brokerage an advantage
  • General accounting knowledge
  • Accountancy qualifications is an advantage

At Flock, we typically follow a hybrid working model involving a minimum of 3 days per week spent in the office, which is based in Central London, a few minutes walk from Moorgate and Liverpool Street.
